Empire State Marathon | Syracuse, NY | Sunday October 14, 2018
Challenge yourself with our fun, fast, flat, scenic, and family-friendly marathon course. Whether you’re trying to qualify for Boston, looking for the perfect first marathon, or anywhere in between, the Empire State Marathon in Syracuse is the perfect combination of Central New York at peak autumn foliage, beautiful views of the east and west shores of Onondaga Lake, a flat and fast course, and a start and finish on the field of a pro ballpark!
Stick around after the race for the finish festival party in NBT Bank Stadium. Party with finishers from all distances, rock with live bands, and pick up some amazing ESM gear to remember the race.
Start behind home plate on the field at NBT Bank Stadium. Make your way to Onondaga Lake Parkway, then into Onondaga Lake Park. Run the beautiful East Shore Recreation Trail in Onondaga Lake Park all the way to the northern end, pass under the NYS Thruway and John Glenn Blvd, then exit the park onto Cold Springs Rd and turn left onto Hayes Rd until the first turnaround. Reverse your steps back to Long Branch Rd, cross the bridge, and make your way down to the West Shore Trail and follow it to the second turnaround. Return on the West Shore Trail, cross back over the bridge on Long Branch Rd, and make your way south on the Shoreline Walking Trail, back to Onondaga Lake Parkway, and return to NBT Bank Stadium. Run around the left field side of the stadium, enter onto the field, and finish behind home plate! Then rock out with live bands and get a massage.
