Empire State Half Marathon | Syracuse, NY | Sunday October 14, 2018
A half marathon may be the perfect distance for a race, and the Empire State Marathon’s Half in Syracuse is as fun, fast, flat, scenic, and family-friendly as they come. Central New York’s beautiful peak autumn foliage, spectacular views of Onondaga Lake, a fast and flat course, and a start and finish on the field of a pro ballpark!
Stick around after the race to party at the finish festival in NBT Bank Stadium. Celebrate with finishers from all distances, rock with live bands, and pick up some amazing ESM gear to remember the race.
Start behind home plate on the field at NBT Bank Stadium. Make your way to Onondaga Lake Parkway, then into Onondaga Lake Park. Run the beautiful East Shore Recreation Trail in Onondaga Lake Park all the way to the northern end, pass under the NYS Thruway and John Glenn Blvd, then circle around Wegman’s Good Dog Park, and make your way south to the Shoreline Walking Trail, back to Onondaga Lake Parkway, and return to NBT Bank Stadium. Run around the left field side of the stadium, enter onto the field, and finish behind home plate! Then rock out with live bands and get a massage.
Course Limit is 5 hours for the half marathon. To finish before the cut off, you must average approximately a 22:45 per mile pace.
Aide stations will be at or about miles 1.5, 3. 4.5, 6.5, 8.5, 10, and 11.5.

Toilet facilities in NBT Bank Stadium at the start and finish. Port-a-johns at or about miles 3, 6, 7, and 10.

Saturday, October 13th, 2018 from 10 am to 5 pm at Fleet Feet Sports
Post Race Party: All distances party together! 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. in NBT Bank Stadium. Complimentary massages for runners following the race provided by Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage. Music by live bands throughout the day.
Race photos will be posted by Monday afternoon
Divisions & Awards
This event is timed by Leone Timing and Results and uses the B-Tag timing system with the timing chip attached to the back of your race bib. Race bibs should be worm on the front of your shirt.
Overall Male and Female
Male Age Group – 14-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+
Female Age Group – 14-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+
Commemorative awards will be given to the Top 3 Overall Male and Female Runners in the Marathon, and to the Top 3 Male and Female in each age group.
